Embroidery Project Sessions

Patchwork Tote (2 sessions)

$45 + materials
Okay, we had a tough time deciding where to put this, so we finally decided it merits a buncha mentions (so you'll see it on some other pages, too). This gorgeous tote is made in two stages: each patch is created individually on your embroidery machine and incorporates such techniques as basic embroidery, in-the-hoop piecing, shrinky fabric, fancy fills, and more. Then, when you have each panel “just so”, piece them all together into a stunning tote you’ll be excited to show off.  Requires purchase of the Anita Goodesign Patchwork Tote embroidery design set, in-stock at That Sewing Place. This is a great stash-bustin' class, but it'll be tough to resist some of our new batiks. And Heather's Hand-Dyed Fat Quarters. Just sayin'...
Sat, Feb 17, & Mar 3 (1pm-4pm)

Dashing Through the Snow (2 sessions)

$45 + materials
Create a classically beautiful embroidered tile scene of a lovely traditional horse and sleigh ride through the winter snow... You'll love this one - the tiles are mostly comprised of line-work embroidery and stitch up relatively quickly, making this almost - but not quite - an instant gratification project! Requires purchase of the Dashing Through the Snow design set from Embroidery Design Studio.
Wed, Feb 7 & 21 (10am-1pm)

Machine Embellishment

Stupendous Stitch-Play (1 session)

$45 + materials
In this intensive but easy embellishment class, you will finally get a chance to play with all of those lovely stitches on your machine. Richly fill a batik panel with decorative stitching, couching, and glorious colour. And just when you think you can’t add any more—you do! Only when your fabric is completely covered with beautiful stitching will it be ready to insert it into your project of choice—a framed piece of textile art, a tablet cover, eyeglass case—even a purse or Diva Wallet! A perfect prelude to Stupendous Stripping...
Fri, Feb 23 (10am-4pm)

Stupendous Stripping (2 sessions)

$60 + materials
Another cross-over class that fills two niches: embellishment and quilting. Intrigued? This pattern was on Liana's to-do list (for years!), but Sharon beat Liana to the finish line (by a long shot)! Take this wonderful opportunity to explore the decorative stitch collection on your sewing machine to create another Stupendous Stitch-Play work of art... with a bit of a twist - or, shall we say, weave? Copiously embellish fabric strips, then piece them into a "plaid-woven" wall hanging.
Fri, Mar 9 & 23 (10am-4pm)
