We are thrilled to announce, we now have a Bernina Q20 Table Top Sit-Down (or stand-up) Longarm Quilting machine that is located in our back classroom. It is available for rent –starting June 16th — for those quilting enthusiasts who want to complete their projects.

To celebrate the use of our Q20 Longarm Quilting machine, we are offering a special introductory promotional offer starting June 16th. We have several rental packages to choose from. All packages include a half hour training on the Q20 from one of our trained Seam Team members to provide you with the instructions needed to confidently operate this machine. You will receive a panel to practice on and a Q20 Qualified Operators Certificate. Email Marlene to book an appointment and find out which package best suits your needs. Book early, as this promotional offer ends August 14th

To allay any concerns, and comply with current health guidelines, you will have exclusive use of the back classroom and washroom, offering you privacy. We have a dedicated entrance into this classroom directly from the outside for your use. The classroom door to the store will remain closed. Should you need to purchase something from the store, a staff member will be pleased to assist you with your personal shopping.

As you are aware, Shops with Doors that open to the ‘street’ are allowed to open as long as they abide with guidelines set out by the Ministry of Health.

This means we have some reorganizing to do so we’re going to change up our Curbside Pick Up Options starting this week.

Effective immediately, the Curbside Pick Up days are Tuesday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

We will be closed Saturdays so we can ensure that when we do re-open, we not only can welcome you all back, but we can do so for the safety of all!

We cannot thank you all enough for the support, cooperation, and patience while situations were changing on a daily basis!  Our customers truly are the BEST!

Yes, we are resuming our Machine Service and have assigned one day for drop-offs and another for pick-up once the service is complete and your machine is ready to go home.

We will assign a drop-off appointment to you on a Friday when you contact us that your machine is ready for a service or repair (please contact us via email at info@thatsewingplace.ca ).  Pick up appointments will be made for the Wednesday AFTER your machine service is complete.

Rest assured, the machine will not only be serviced and ready to sew again, but it will also be cleaned and sanitized before we seal it in a bag for you.

Curbside Pick Up during Covid-19 Lockdown – UPDATE

First and foremost, we thank you all for your continued support and understanding during this difficult and highly unusual new way of doing things. We hope this finds you all feeling well and adjusting to our strange new lifestyle. We have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of support (and sales) these past few weeks and cannot wait until we can all convene together in person again.

We are happy to resume Curbside Pick Up, however with a few restrictions in place for the health and safety of yourself and your family and for ours.

Pick-up day will be Wednesday’s between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Orders that are placed at info@thatsewingplace.ca placed before Tuesday at 2 p.m. will be ready the following day. Orders placed after this time will be ready the next week. If you need something sooner, it can be shipped directly to you in the safety of your home.

We will arrange a pick-up appointment time with you. We ask that you please adhere to the appointment time frame we mutually agree upon when we confirm your order, so we maintain the regulations set out by the Federal and Provincial Health guidelines regarding the 2 metre distance rule.

Once you arrive, please call the store to let us know you are here to receive your order. We will place your order outside of the store’s main entrance. When we are back in the store, then you can get out of your vehicle and pick up your order. Arrangements can be made for new machine or machine repair pick-ups to be lifted into your vehicle.

Please watch our social media pages and the news page on our website for updates and sales. We are constantly exploring new ways to ‘stay in touch’ and our goal is to implement some of those ideas soon.

Again, many, many thanks for your continued support, understanding and cooperation.

Stay home, stay healthy, stay crafting. Together, we will get through this.

UPDATE – COVID-19

Effective tonight at 11:59 pm, the Government of Ontario has issued a mandatory closure to businesses not deemed ‘essential’.

We’ve had the doors closed to our store for a week now, and that will remain in effect until we are given the green light by the Health Officials that we can reopen for business as usual once again.

In the meantime, we are allowed to operate online and we will continue to fill orders for supplies as you require them.   Email info@thatsewingplace.ca to inquire about products you need and we will work with you via email or telephone to meet your needs and get your supplies to you via shipping directly to the safety of your home.

We are currently awaiting information regarding Curbside Pick Up.  We hope to have answers regarding that within the next 24-48 hours and will update this post as soon as we have confirmed with the ministry of health if that can continue or not.

Payments for supplies can be made via VISA/MASTERCARD/E-Transfer.

Thank you for your continued support, patience, and understanding throughout this new way of doing business.  Together we will get through the current situation and be back to ‘real life’ as soon as it’s safe for all.
